White Wedding

I personally more of a colour girl. I wish our apartment would look light and fresh and white like you can see in my very good friend's Maria's blogg. I think her home is simply amazing, but personally i know i wouldn't manage to live that way. I would miss colours and a little mess around me, little mess is part of my personality i guess hehe

Anyway i thought that idea off the white wedding is very interesting. At this particular moment we haven't yet decided as such on the decoration and flowers, and our invitations were not of any actual colour, well except dark red seal wax stamps and golden decorations. So white wedding would be still possible for us. So i decided to look for some white wedding decorations and looks.

White colour is interesting as it has so many different shades and can actually be ether warm ivory and yellowish, or it can be cold bright white. Playing with different shades of white can make the wedding venue look elegant and will let different things stand out. Like white flowers on the white table will look better if the shade of white will be different in them. As example of how different the white colour can be is the lower picture, yes all of this colours here are actually white!

I really like how white looks with natural wood colours.

Hmmm bridesmaids in white as well ? Would you be brave enough? Or do you think more traditionally, that only the bride should wear white ?

After looking on all the whites, i must be honest. Personally i must say, that if we will have only white colour - i will go nuts :) But still the idea is good especially if the flower central peaces would have a lot of green flowers/leafs and such.

What do you think, will you have a white wedding ?

Wedding Ring Search Is Over

That is it. The wedding ring search is finally over ! I am really happy that i do not need to go to all the stores anymore ! What a relief! I know some girls love shopping, but i personally shop the best through my computer screen :)

So i went today to all the jewel stores in our little town and after that i was sure. There is one ring i really want ! So this Lily ring will be my in a 2-3 weeks times as it was needed to be ordered. And got some discount on it.

Happy Happy Joy Joy :)

So, this is my wedding ring! But my will be in white gold! <3 Can't wait to have it here :) It doesn't have lots of bling bling , has only one bigger diamond, but i feel it's gorgeous anyway ^^

Bride with a Hair Crown

For some girls the dress, flowers, shoes, veil, jewelry are the most important part of their bridal look. For me...  that is my hairstyle. My grandmother always said that the hair is girl's crown. That we should care of the hair and keep it looking beautiful. Maybe this is silly, but that is how i feel...

As my hairdresser told me, usually brides will just go to a hairdresser and say " I want some kind of a bun for the wedding " and that's it. For me some kind of a bun isn't something i would want. I have a long hair and i feel that i should somehow show my hair in the best way it is possible and not just hide it.

Then again i always have some sort of a bun to every wedding i go too and even on a everyday basis, so on my wedding day i want to have something different and some sort of a WOW factor in it. I won't have too many hair decorations as i want my hair to be the main attention taker but still something nice and possibly shiny.

So now i am stressing badly.. I need and want the most beautiful hairstyle there is possible to have ! Talking about not expecting too much. Then every single time i go to a hairdresser i always feel disappointed afterwards. When in high school we had a dancing evening for which we needed to have beautiful hairstyles, my hairdresser was terrified from the amount and length of my hair.. ( and personally i think my hair isn't that long or that think, it's a normal amount). And in the end she made one ugly hairstyle which i could have made myself with my eyes closed! Huge disappoint! I really do not want this to happen on my wedding day. Good thing that the hairdresser i found right now didn't seem to be scared of my hair and sounded even excited to do something different than usually. So, so far i feel more or less confident that she will be able to make me look good.. As in the end that is what every bride wants...

I had a dream last night and my hair was perfect this time!!!  First ever dream about our wedding without everything going badly :)

And so that it won't be all about me me me, here is a crown braid hairstyle! <3

How important hairstyle is to you?

Romantic Wedding Photos

Our photographer is simply amazing! We had a date for our photo shoot already chosen, but because of schools ending at that week we decided that it's better to move our scheduled photo shoot a bit later. I knew i needed to call and tell what day i would want to have, but i was always telling myself " I'll call later " , " I call tomorrow" " My work is so close to their office, so i will go there personally" and so on and so on.. And over a month time went that way.. Yep, laziness... So what a lovely surprise i got yesterday, when i get a phone call from assistant of our photographer who asked what date will we want - so that we wouldn't loose a good day! Such a small thing, but made me feel extremely important and happy hehe

So now that I'm all happy about finally having the exact day we have our photos at, i think it would be nice look for photo types i would like for our wedding day. Like i have told already we would like ( or i would like and my fiance goes with it) to take photos somewhere near the river. I love trees, water, big rocks.. that kind of a place i would like for your photo shoot. So i do know where i want it, but how would it look like ? Here are few of the ideas i found and would love to share with you:

This few photos i found on google some while ago and love the mood <3 Maybe with my sisters... would be awesome !

I think we should start learning this pose for our photo shoot :) But how hard can it be anyway... hmm ? ^^

Imagine this photo but with the tree between bride and groom... I can see it in my mind how romantic would it look <3 Photo

Like this but once again think about a big tree and a river behind ! Love it <3 photo

Amazing!photo

Or maybe something funny as well ?^^ photo

A pocket watch for the groom

I've been have a difficult time with making my fiance somehow participate in our wedding arrangements. Yes, i do have strong since of style and i know what i like and want for our wedding. But honestly i feel the wedding is ours and not my only. So yes, i want his opinion and his thoughts on what should we have.

He is like most of the Finnish men not very good in telling what he likes. Mostly i get answers like this :

"I don't know" "If you like " "Your choice" "You know the best" "I don't know"

I know many girls would be extremely happy if they could decide everything themselves.. But i really want him to enjoy and feel like it is his celebration as well and not my alone. He doesn't know it yet, but the jewelry i chosen for myself actually was chosen after showing him and getting a surprisingly strong response .. I heard him saying " Hmm.. that is nice looking!" Yes that was the strongest response I've ever heard said by him!!! So of course i knew from that moment i must get that jewelry! Yes i liked them as well but the feeling that they were just right in his mind as well, was even more important than my own.

So why am i saying this all ? Well.. i think i found one thing he would really enjoy wearing on our wedding day! That is a pocket watch! I hope i will find the right one and for not too high price and before our wedding day! I think he would look amazing with the pocket watch on his belt or a button of his vest! Something like this.

So i need to find a right looking pocket watch :) And no he doesn't know i am buying , but i've showed  him few photos and know what style he would like the most :)

Diamond value and quality

        photo

I have in a little hurry in choosing a wedding ring. But if other girls would finally make a decision and that's it, i become more and more interested in what I'm really buying. So yes, I'm interested in DIAMONDS. I have this little issue with my own personality. When i don't know something - i learn, when i am curious about something - i search for information. So not as surprisingly I've started reading everything i can find on diamonds and what should i personally know when buying one.

I remember how some years ago i heard that when choosing diamond you should choose that stone that is the most bright and sparkle. In a way this description of a quality diamond is true. As the better cut and the better colour - the better the end sparkle and beauty of the diamond. But if you are like me, you would really want to know more about diamonds and the quality of them. I hope this little guide will help you out and possibly will make you search for more information.

There are three categories which will determine diamond's total quality. All three of them will drastically affect on the price of the diamond but not necessarily will affect on the look of the diamond.

1. DESIGN

Basically design is the amount of carat in the diamond or if saying more clearly "How Big The Diamond Is ":)

one metric carat = 200 mg = 1/5 gram.

The carat is subdivided into tenth, hundredth and lately even thousandth. Very small brilliants are measured in "points"; one "point" is equal to one hundredth of a carat (0.01 ct).

A carat is also subdivided into "grains" - a unit of weights used for pearls where one carat = four grains. A one-carater therefore is also a four-grainer. The term "one-carater" does not only refer to a diamond of exactly 1.00 ct, but comprises diamonds within a certain weight zone, which can be described as follows:

one-carater (four-grainer) 0.95-1.05 ct
three-quarter carater (three-grainer) 0.72-0.76 ct
half -carater (two-grainer) 0.47-0.56 ct
quarter-carater (one-grainer) 0.23-0.26 ct

Commercially, however, diamonds of one group are priced differently: a brilliant of 0.99 ct is roughly 10-15 % cheaper than a brilliant of 1.01 ct of the same quality. But the difference in size of them is so small, that you wouldn't really see it clearly.

Here are some diamond carats and the real size of the stone photo

2. CRAFTSMANSHIP

Marcel Tolkowsky's mathematical guide for perfect diamond cut  photo

Few different diamond cuts. I personally love the traditional round one the most, but pearl and marquise are close to my heart as well. <3  photo

So we determined the size of the diamond. Next comes how well diamond was cut. When you look on the diamond from the top with the loupe, you will see the cuttings looking like an arrows. When looking from the bottom of the diamond, there will be hearts shaped cuts. I would suggest to ask if you could possibly see the diamond with the louple in your jewel store.

REMEMBER: For grades F through SI, a diamond's clarity grade has an impact on the diamond's value, not on the unmagnified diamond's appearance. So you could say that diamonds with VVS and VS grades are excellent choices for both value and appearance. But if you choose to buy an I1-I3 diamond, know that some people will look at it and immediately see the flaws -- and not just experienced jewelers. You can see in the lower picture at what point the flaws in a diamond start to be seen with a naked eye.

3. FACE-UP APPEARANCE

Or the colour of the diamond. There are different names used for naming the colour of the stone. When i was in one jewel store i was told by seller that the stone was rare top wesselton colour. And honestly at that moment i had no idea what she was talking about. Yes that stone was beautiful ( and expensive ) but that name told me nothing. Luckily now i know what it means :) In the lower picture nimikkeistö = name , väri = colour . Sorry for Finnish language there, but i simply could find a better picture of all the names used for same colours.
  • GIA standards  = Gemological Institute of America's standards
  • Scan.D.N. = Scandinavian Diamond Nomenclature standards

*Warning, the colours of the diamonds are not shown there as they would be in a real life.

The whiter the diamond is - the more beautiful and expensive it is. For example price for a 1 carat diamond will rice 500-700 euros when the colour quality goes from H to G.

So basically if you want both good appearance and value for your diamond, i would suggest to choose the quality no lower than SI and the colour no lower than H (Wesselton). The diamond size and shape is something that is more of a taste thing. Then again each of the diamonds are individual, so even a low colour level and a low cutting quality can still make the diamond ring look beautiful. So don't get all blinded by the names. I just hope this information will make it easier for you to compare different stones to each other and get the right price.

There is always a little problem when buying a ring with a long line of a smaller diamonds. If you buying a solitaire diamond ring you will have a document which will tell you what size, what colour and what cut it has. But when you buy a ring with a diamond line , there is more likely to be written just an average value or a gap between which the stones are. The risk is that there can still be an even lover level stone in the ring. So i would suggest for you to take the ring to some other jewel store and ask for value check.

PS: i am really sorry if this is little boring to read..... :)
